An Open Letter to People Who Hate Obama More Than They Love America

This excellent article is from 2012 and is even more on target today…

An Open Letter to People Who Hate Obama More Than They Love America
by MinistryOfTruth

I meet you all the time. You hate Obama. You hate gay people. You hate black people, immigrants, Muslims, labor unions, women who want the right to make choices concerning their bodies, you hate em all. You hate being called racist. You hate being called a bigot. Maybe if you talked about creating jobs more than you talk about why you hate gay people we wouldn’t call you bigots. Maybe if you talked about black people without automatically assuming they are on food stamps while demanding their birth certificates we wouldn’t call you racist. You hate socialism and social justice. You hate regulations and taxes and spending and the Government. You hate.

You like war. You like torture. You like Jesus. I don’t know how in the hell any of that is compatible, but no one ever accused you haters of being over-committed to ideological consistency. You like people who look like you or at least hate most of the things that you hate. You hate everything else.

Now, I know you profess to love our country and the founding fathers (unless you are reminded that they believed in the separation of church and state), but I need to remind you that America is NOT what Fox News says it is. America is a melting pot, it always has been. We are a multi-cultural amalgamation of all kinds of people, and yet you still demonize everyone who is not a rich, white, heterosexual christian male or his submissive and obedient wife.

You hate liberals, moderates, hell, anyone who disagrees with Conservative dogma as espoused by Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. You hate em.

Well, here are the facts, Jack. If you hate the Government then you are unqualified to manage it. If you hate gay people more than you love America than you should take your own advice and get the hell out. There are several countries that are openly hostile to gay people, but they are full of brown people and you don’t like them much either from what I understand. It looks like you are screwed, but that’s not what I am here to tell you.

Now that you have thrown everything and the kitchen sink at President Obama and it still hasn’t worked you are panicking. Obama’s approval ratings are still near 50% despite your best efforts to undermine the economy and America’s recovery at every step you can. You tried to hold the American economy hostage to force America into default on its’ debts, debts that YOU rang up under Bush, so you could blame it on Obama and it failed. You’ve used the filibuster more than any other Congress ever, going so far as to vote against providing health care access to 9/11 first responders. You remember 9/11, don’t you, it’s that thing you used to lie us into a war in Iraq, and then when Obama killed Bin Laden and ended the war in Iraq you told people that he hates America and wants the troops to fail. You monsters. You hate Obama with a passion, despite the fact that he is a tax cutting, deficit reducing war President who undermines civil rights and delivers corporate friendly watered down reforms that benefit special interests just like a Republican. You call him a Kenyan. You call him a socialist. You dance with your hatred singing it proudly in the rain like it was a 1950’s musical.

Frankly, you disgust me. Your hatred nauseates me. Your bigotry offends me. Your racism revolts me.

Dear haters, I am openly questioning your patriotism.

I think you hate gays, Obama, black people, poor people, all of us, women, atheists and agnostics, Latinos, Muslims, Liberals, all of us, I think you hate every one who isn’t exactly like you, and I think you hate us more than you love your country.

I think you hate gay soldiers more than you want America to win its wars.

I don’t even think you want America to win wars, you just want America to have wars, never ending wars and the war profiteering it generates. You love that kind of spending, you love spending on faith based initiatives and abstinence based sex education (George Carlin would have loved that one), you love spending on subsidies for profitable oil corporations, you spend like drunken sailors when you are in the White House, but if it is a Democrat then suddenly you cheer when America doesn’t get the Olympics because it might make the black President look bad. But oooh you love your country, you say, and you want it back. Well listen here skippy, it isn’tyour country, you don’t own it, it is our country, and America is NOT the religiously extremist Foxbots who hate science, elitist professors and having a vibrant and meaningful sex life with someone we love if Rick Santorum doesn’t approve of it. Rick Santorum isn’t running for America’s fucking high school dance chaperone, he should probably just shut the hell up about sex, but he can’t because he has nothing else to run on.

Republicans can NOT win on the issues. They’ve got NOTHING. All they have is a divide and conquer class war that pits ignorant racist and bigoted people against the rest of us in a meaningless battle of wedge issues and the already proven to fail George W. Bush agenda again of tax cuts for the rich, deregulation, privatization and war profiteering and nothing else, so all they can do is blame black people, gays the government, anybody and everyone else for their own failings. The party of personal responsibility, my ass.

But they love multi-national corporations, just ask a gay hating and racist religious extremist if they think Corporations are people and they will gladly agree, but if you ask them if gay people are people they aren’t so sure.

Dear haters, you are the cruel, heartless misinformed assholes who would sell America out to Haliburton in a heartbeat, you would rather pay ZERO taxes than you would see a newly born baby get access to quality health care, you cheer when we discuss denying health care to young people with preventable diseases, and you boo when we discuss the First Ladies plan to cut back on childhood obesity. You are a cross to carry and a flag to wrap yourself in away from being the people who Sinclair Lewis warned us about, but I guarantee that if Fox News told you to dress that way you would, because you are the same blind, ignorant and closed minded dunces who drove this country into a civil war years ago because you are bound to the notion that some men are more equal than others. In short, the reason I proudly wear my union army hat is because of seditious sell outs like you who constantly fuck over working class Americans so a foreign entrepreneur like Rupert Murdoch can get a bigger tax break. If corporations are people, they are neither American patriots nor capable of love. Just like you.

So stop wearing your hate with pride. Stop celebrating your anti-science, anti-math ignorance. Stop using code words to mask your bigotry like “family values”, especially when you hate my family and when you stand on the same stage as a guy who has had three marriages or if you share a seat in the Senate with a guy who cheated on his wife with hookers while wearing diapers. You should be ashamed. I know that you are just doing this to motivate your misinformed hate cult base because if they actually knew that your ideas will make them poorer than they are now, they would never vote for you. You are doing your best to impoverish your countrymen so rich people can get bigger tax breaks and you can keep on delivering corporate welfare to the special interests who have bribed you, and I am disgusted by the way you gleefully parade your hatred with aplomb. I don’t think you do love America. At least, not as much as you hate everyone in America who isn’t exactly like you.

You should think about that, and maybe get some help.

And for the record, I do not hate you. I am embarrassed by you and nauseated by your cruel and thoughtless behavior and your all consuming greed, but I do not hate you. I forgive you and I hope you can change someday, but I don’t hate you. You have enough hate in you for the rest of us as it is.

The GOP Stands With Putin

Tracy Knauss nails it…

G.O.P = GUSHING OVER PUTIN. The GOP leaders would rather support a communist leader, and former head of the KGB, than support their own president, even in an international crisis!! It’s amazing what having a Black Man in the White House can do. It can cause the closet racists and bigots to come out into the open and form a national party of supposed patriots. And it can make the GOP leaders praise a Russian despot over their own POTUS. Face it, the GOP HATES women, they HATE Blacks, they HATE Latinos, they HATE Gays, and yet they LOVE Putin. What a crock of cascading crap that is. But that’s today’s GOP. They would rather embrace a communist despot than salute their own commander in chief. Traitors much? That’s the new GOP leadership. And that’s just one more reason to NEVER vote for a Republican. Remember this, come November.

You cannot make this up. All those years of hating on Putin and Russia and now a complete turnaround. The disrespect shown toward this President is beyond the pale. During a crisis like this, all Americans are expected to support our leader, ESPECIALLY Congress.

I am so ashamed of these anti-Americans and haters.  This is our year to turn this mess around.

As a commenter at the link wrote:

A good leader sees war as a last resort! Can you imagine if McCain had become president in ’08!?! We would still have the Iraq war, the Afghanistan war and we would be at war with Iran, North Korea, Syria, and a push for Russian war!

The GOP is as insane as their racist voters. 2014. You know what to do.

Cruz Missile Targets Capitol!!

by Tracy Knauss

CRUISIN’ FOR A BRUSIN’ — For the record, the Affordable Care Act (AKA Obamacare or Romneycare 2) was originally a Republican idea spawned in the Koch-funded “think tank,” the Heritage Foundation. Gov. Romney embraced it and implemented it in Massachusetts where it has been a big success.

But…when the Black man in the White House embraced it for all of America, thinking he’d find bipartisan support in Congress, suddenly the frightwingers changed positions and have been fighting it tooth and nail. What the Republicans initially liked about the law was that it covered the insurance industry, by requiring everyone to have insurance. Yet it is this SAME mandated coverage that the Republicans now use as the main thrust of their opposition. “This is America. You can’t make us buy anything we don’t want to!” goes the Tea Party mantra.

Front and center to this opposition is TEAbully Senator Ted Cruz from Texas who was only elected because of radical redistricting, ensuring his victory. Last week his own hometown newspaper withdrew its previous endorsement of him. Cruz went to Washington to seek and destroy Obamacare, NOT to work with Democrats to create laws needed by most Americans.

One of the foundation planks in Obama’s election platform was passage of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). It passed both houses of Congress, President Obama signed it into law, and the Supreme Court upheld its basic principles. BUT the TEAjadists couldn’t stand it. They refused to believe Obama won reelection (by the largest margin since Clinton), so they shut down our government, costing us $24 billion in economic injury, not to speak of the human suffering and the international disrespect. Cruz and the TEApublicans lost that battle too.

But now Cruz refuses to surrender, mounting an effort to destroy “Obamacare” in any way he can. In so doing, this Cruz Missile is destroying the Republican Party by elevating the ignorant radicals to command-and-control positions, and raising money (via the Koch Machine) to challenge in the upcoming primaries anyone who supported reopening our government and raising the debt ceiling. America has so many challenges facing our leaders. Yet Senator Cruz’s utter disdain for our government motivates him to destroy our two-century-old form of democratic rule in favor of sectarian, minority party rule.

It’s time to put Cruz in his place. If the establishment Republicans won’t or can’t do it, then the Democrats and Independents must. His ill-conceived, personally motivated efforts must be stopped.

5 Ways The Republican Party Has Sabotaged Our Economic Recovery

Why haven’t the Democrats charged the Republicans with treason for sabotaging the economy? ~Marion

From the Nation Memo…

The Dow is over 15,000 and continually testing new highs. The unemployment rate and unemployment claims are at lows that haven’t been seen since before the economic crisis of 2008. If Mitt Romney were president, Republicans would be hailing him as the new Reagan with a better dye job.

Yet a right-wing group is suggesting that President Obama should be impeached for wrecking the stock market and slowing job growth.

The truth is that the Republican Party made a conscious decision to slow the economic recovery the moment the president took office. “After three hours of strategizing, they decided they needed to fight Obama on everything,” PBS’Frontline reported.

To deny Obama a second term, they knew they had to slow the recovery. And their plan worked in 2010. The unemployment rate was rising as the GOP swept to the largest congressional landslide in the last half-century. However, their plans were thwarted as they paused their most aggressive efforts for the 2012 campaign and job growth continued at a steady pace of around 160,000 new jobs a month.

The Economic Policy Institute’s Josh Bivens and Andrew Fieldhouse summarized how the congressional GOP actively smothered the economic recovery. But the effort to cut spending and spread destructive myths about the economy united the entire party and could have easily caused a recession, if it had only been more effective.

Here are five ways the Republican Party has tried to sabotage our economy.

Reminder About SC’s 100% Unverifiable Colbert Busch/Sanford U.S. House Special Election

I suspected something was very wrong when Mark Sanford won the election yesterday by 9 points…after being neck and neck with only a 1 point lead over Elizabeth Busch just the day before. Brad Blog confirmed my fears. ~Marion

At the beginning of last month, The BRAD BLOG explained in detail why it was that, no matter who South Carolina’s 100% unverifiable touch-screen voting systems declare to be the winner of tomorrow’s special election for the U.S. House, there is virtually nothing that either supporters of Elizabeth Colbert Busch (D) or of former Gov. Mark Sanford (R), can do about it.

If there are questions about the results, too bad. The state of SC doesn’t care. They don’t want citizens to be able to oversee their own elections. The results will be 100% unverifiable as determined in secret by computers — at least for those votes cast on election day at the polls, versus those cast on paper via absentee ballots.

The voting systems in use on Tuesday, as we noted in our previous article, will be the same ones which inexplicably declared the unknown, unemployed, non-campaigning Alvin Greene to be the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate over the veteran state legislator and former circuit court judge Vic Rawl back in 2010. That race shouldn’t have even been close. It was thought to be Rawl’s in a rout, prior to the results being announced by the computer voting systems, which had a different idea.

Tomorrow’s election, however, despite the 1st Congressional District having gone for Romney over Obama in a big way in 2012, is believed to be very close, according to pre-election polls.

When we wrote our April article, Colbert Busch (Stephen Colbert’s sister) was seen to be barely leading the disgraced Sanford, in what was described by Public Policy Polling (PPP) as “a toss up” at the time…

Since that time, Sanford has found himself embroiled in yet another scandal, as his former wife accused him of trespassing at her house (as opposed to “hiking the Appalachian Trail.”) He is scheduled to face those charges in court hearing this coming Thursday. In the wake of that news, Colbert Busch’s poll numbers, according to PPP (a Democratic-leaning outfit, but one with among the best recent track records in the business), bumped up to a 9-point lead over Sanford.

And now, on the eve of the race, PPP says Sanford has closed the gap, and leads Colbert Busch by just 1 point in what they describe as “a toss-up” again.

In other words, it’s anybody’s guess how voters may vote tomorrow. Unfortunately, even after tomorrow, it’ll still be anybody’s guess as to how the voters actually voted, thanks to the oft-failed, easily-manipulated, 100% unverifiable ES& iVotronic touch-screen electronic voting systems in use that will either record voters’ intent accurately tomorrow…or not. Nobody can ever know.

The Rise Of The Feudal Lords

It’s been almost two weeks since my last post. I had a close call with a bacterial infection. I’m on the mend and will do my best to post a bit more frequently. Thank you all for for subscribing. It is appreciated! Marion

The Rise Of The Feudal Lords

What do you call a system where the will of 90% of the people is ignored? What do you call a system where financial institutions are deemed “too big to prosecute” and are raking in profits while the rest of the country is stagnating in the mess they created? What do you call a system where one party gets one million more votes in an election but loses leadership of the House of Representatives? What do you call a system that allows the theft of people’s homes, even when those people have never missed a payment? What do you call a system that then pays the victims of the theft pennies on the dollar and then those checks are hard to cash?

That system is called an oligarchy, defined by Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary as 1: government by the few 2: a government in which a small group exercises control esp. for corrupt and selfish purposes; also: a group exercising such control 3: an organization under oligarchic control. Boiled down, it’s just a word to describe the actions of people who are doing what the feudal lords of old did to our forbears – only worse. The feudal lords of today aren’t dressed in velvet head-dresses and long flowing robes. They are attired in Brooks Brothers suits. The power they wield is dizzying and they are drunk with it. They OWN this country and any little irritant, like an upstart black guy in the White House or the will of the people, isn’t going to upset their applecart because they hold all the cards and they intend to keep them.

Just like the serfs cowered in front of the lord who could kick them off the plot of land they farmed for him, the citizens of the United States have been kicked out of their homes, watched their retirements evaporate, and stood helplessly by when our Supreme Court endowed corporations with the same rights as individuals, thus dictating who is important and who is not. And now, the Supreme Court is going for an encore in McCutcheon vs. FEC.

…When a small minority dictates policy for the majority, you no longer have a democratic republic. You have an oligarchy and the people who run it, people like the Koch Brothers and Mitt Romney and Sheldon Adelson, are the ones calling the shots. They keep themselves hidden and send out their lackeys to do the dirty work; those lackeys being people like Rand Paul, Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor and John Boehner. Those guys want a crack at getting a big piece of the pie from the feudal lords and so they’ll sell you down the river while they look you in the eye and tell you it’s for your own good.

Our system is broken and one wonders if it is beyond repair. When the Attorney General of the United States tells us that the big banks are too big to prosecute, when not one of the fat cat bankers who pushed this country off a fiscal cliff is called to account, when the will of the people for sane and sensible gun laws takes a back seat to the will of the entitled few, then you know we have reached a point in time where we are in danger of losing it all.

The feudal lords use fear and prejudice to divide people. Just look at what happened with the Tea Party. This was a movement that originated in response to the bank bailout. They were angry and they let everyone know it. A lot of liberals were just as angry as all those original Tea Party folks. But the Tea Party has morphed into something else entirely. It didn’t happen because they were all “right wingers.” It happened because they were manipulated by the feudal lords who were behind the scenes and pulling strings. They watched as their puppets danced to their immigrant hating, racist tactics and they loved the great divide. We were already a country deeply scarred by the events of September 11, 2001. We were already at odds with each other about things that heretofore we NEVER would have countenanced, namely war crimes committed by an administration that was composed of oligarchs. Any chance at measured, productive conversation between the two sides is crushed without mercy in a barrage of misinformation geared to widen the gap between people who used to be able to, if not amicably disagree, at least respect that the other side has a right to their opinion. Now it’s just name-calling and shouting and nothing gets done. Which suits the feudal lords just fine because they are getting richer as they continue to steal the wealth of a nation. And those lackeys? When their usefulness is done, they will be turned out just as the serfs who were no longer needed were turned out. In the meantime, the rest of us will be wallowing in the mudpit we have been cast into, arguing about who should be allowed in this country and who shouldn’t.

It’s disgusting, really, how malleable the American public has become. We let it happen. We have allowed the feudal lords to tell us that no matter the cost, we must have our guns because the government is out to get us. They tell us that we have no money, so we must cut police and fire and, their very favorite for the chopping block, education. Education is always the first to be cut and the last to be restored. We are told that women should have no choice and to even think it is tantamount to murder. We are told that climate change is just an unproven theory, even though 97 per cent of the world’s scientists say otherwise. That doesn’t matter to the feudal lords who could care less about an oil spill or a fracking explosion in your back yard. They live in their grand homes, far from the danger and they are so blinded by their own greed that they don’t see that the demise of the environment will mean their demise as well as ours. So they’ll lay down and die covered with thousand dollar bills. But you know what? Dead is dead, whether you’re a prince or a pauper.

The only remedy lies with the people, and I am cautiously optimistic.

…The reason the people in government don’t do our bidding is because we have allowed a system to be put in place that effectively negates our power. People have DIED to protect our right to vote and yet, people stay home in droves on election day.

If you want to take this country back, no matter if you are on the right, on the left or somewhere in between, it is up to you—indeed, it is up to all of us—to stop bickering, to find common ground (because it IS there) and take back our democracy. It has never been easy and sometimes it hasn’t been pretty, but it has always worked. It can work again, but it will take the will of the people to overcome the will and the vast resources of the entitled few. Until then, we must come to terms with the fact that we no longer live in a democracy. We live in an oligarchy where the modern day feudal lords rule and we the people are expendable.

Unite With Us To End Government Corruption

Across the United States of America, citizens are disappointed in their government.

While the nation grapples with historical debt, a recession, energy dependence, inflation , terrorism, and wars we cannot afford, our politicians are asleep at the wheel.

The system is broken. Our government has been corrupted by money. We need Congress to solve the nation’s problems, instead our politicians are out raising money for re-election. The country is run by lobbyists – fighting on behalf of big oil, pharmaceuticals, military contractors, labor unions, trial lawyers, insurance companies, food corporations, and on and on. We may never get rid of lobbyists and big financial donors. But we all agree: citizens should come first.

Our government is corrupt. We need to fix it. We have a plan. We need your help.

HERE’S WHAT THE ACT DOES

For more details about the Act, click here.

  • Shine a light on dark money groups and their secret donors.
  • Outlaw members of Congress from taking donations from the entities they regulate.
  • Close the revolving door between Congress and K Street so politicians (and their staff) aren’t trading their power in exchange for cushy jobs when they leave office.
  • Foster small donor contributions through citizen-funded elections. (If we shut out all the corrupting money, we need to enable clean money. Because like it or not, it costs money to run for office.)
  • Stop Super PACs and dark money groups from coordinating with campaigns.
  • Disempower Super PACs while protecting the free speech rights of Americans.
  • Expand the definition of lobbying to include all types of influence peddlers.

HERE’S WHY IT’S GOING TO WORK

  • We’re going beyond piecemeal reforms. This is comprehensive legislation of historic proportions. It completely reshapes our current system to eliminate the undue influence of money.
  • Millions of people are ready to rally behind the same proposal, including all of the issue groups being beaten by big money lobbyists.
  • Our movement is not progressive; it’s not conservative, it’s American. From Occupy to the Tea Party; Democrats to Republicans to Independents. Over 80% of Americans – liberal, independent and conservative – want to get money out.
  • We won’t ask politicians to fix this for us. We’ll force them to. It’s the only way to get the fox (politicians) to put a lock on the henhouse (campaign contributions). Oppose us, and you will lose office.

HERE’S THE PLAN:

    1. INTRODUCE THE ANTI-CORRUPTION ACT TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.Read the details of the act here
    2. ENLIST ONE MILLION “CITIZEN CO-SPONSORS” (THAT’S YOU)Congress will only act if we force them to. That takes political power. And that takes people.
    3. TAKE IT TO WASHINGTONIntroduce the law to Congress with the power of 1 million people.
    4. PRESSURE POLITICIANS TO CO-SPONSORPressure politicians to formally co-sponsor the law in the US Congress — with no changes, additions or delays.
    5. UNSEAT ENEMIES OF REFORMUnseat opponents of reform with a hard-hitting grassroots accountability campaign.

Huzzah! Pass the Act. Stop Corruption. Maybe throw a little party?

2014…get to the polls and “throw the bums out!”

Via Politicususa

In my media news life, I’ve covered a couple of state legislatures. Politically I’ve testified before a committee, been announced from the floor and actually have befriended some state senators and representatives. They’ve either told me stuff on background or have been half in the bag when they spilled the beans. My incentive for this story is to ‘vote the bums out’. We no longer have a citizen representative democracy in most states

Lets start with access. As an average Joe or Jill you can’t get through to the Governor or assorted legislative big shots. But money talks. A prime example is the February 2011 phone punking of Wisconsin Governor, Scott Walker by an online newspaper editor pretending to be David Koch. When Walker thought it was one of the Billion-dollar brothers, he dove for the phone. Power, money and those who preside over large voting blocs get the attention of your elected officials.

A second money example is Howard Rich, a 72-year-old New York Real Estate Mogul who routinely pours sizable contributions fronted by his LLC Corporations into even the smallest of districts in states where legislators are voting on school choice or voucher issues. In South Carolina, Rich got his money’s worth. He contributed to 58% of the state’s House members who passed a school choice bill he supported. The bill was approved, by a 65-49 count. All 65 were Republicans. You can track more info and assorted SC Rich contributions listed in my September 12th submission. It’s the same Rich pattern in other state legislatures. Your $50 buys no access or influence. Ergo, you should know that General Assembly squatters get their marching orders from the same people who over-stuff their campaign coffers.

(read the rest of the article here…it’s worth it)

…The best chance you have to advance this country to the next step in recovery is the mid-terms in 2014. Be proud Democrats and no matter how many voting roadblocks the right-wing plants in front of you, get to the polls and “throw the bums out.”
